![]() His children, especially Elizabeth, have stated numerous times Jeff and their mother were not very good parents. In 1998, Jeff wrote to his daughter Sarah and had her move to Sarajevo as well. They sent their two daughters Sarah and Elizabeth Webber to live with their 'grandmother' Audrey. In 1997, Jeff and his new wife traveled to Sarajevo to help in the war effort. In 1981, Jeff took his son Steven and left Port Charles, later asking Heather for a divorce because he found someone else. Shortly thereafter Diana was killed by Heather's mother, Alice Grant, who had tried to frame Annie for the murder. In 1981, they had broken up and Jeff had an affair with Diana, who finally revealed to him P.J. In 1980, while Heather was still in the sanitarium, Jeff fell in love with Audrey Hardy's niece Annie Logan and the duo hoped to wed. In order to keep from losing her adopted son, Diana Taylor married Jeff, though he still did not know the child was his. Peter Taylor died of a heart attack when he heard. Taylor was really Jeff Webber's son Steven Lars Webber. Jeff had no choice but to ship her off to a sanitarium. ![]() Heather planned to put LSD in Diana Taylor's drink and make her go insane. Meanwhile, Heather was obsessed to see her son whom she had sold to the Taylors. Believing Steve was on his deathbed, his wife Audrey Hardy told Jeff that Steve was his real father. He himself fell ill with the fatal disease. In the winter of 1979, Steve Hardy was forced to place General Hospital under quarantine due to an outbreak of the deadly Lassa Fever. Jeff announced if the baby was a boy, he wanted to name him Steven Lars. Soon, Heather discovered she was pregnant again. Taylor and Jeff was studying for his license. In 1978, Jeff and Heather married, but early into their marriage, the newlyweds saw very little of each other as Heather had become the nanny of her own child, P.J. On the rebound, Jeff asked Heather to marry him, especially after learning their child had died. Monica, meanwhile, was shaken by the fact her previous lover Rick Webber had asked Lesley Faulkner to marry him, and so Monica asked Jeff for a divorce. Heather then opted to move to New York and give birth to the baby and sell it to Peter and Diana Taylor for $10,000, though she told Jeff the baby had died. Heather responded by faking a suicide attempt and demanding Jeff leave Monica. When Heather revealed to Jeff she was pregnant, Jeff told her to abort the baby so he could still be with Monica. Out of guilt, Monica reconciled with him. In 1977, Jeff had a slow recovery from his bullet wound. On his deathbed, he was told by his sister Terri Webber while her own mother Helene was dying, she had revealed the location of a safe deposit box, containing a letter stating Jeff's real father was Steve Hardy. Jeff then stole a gun kept in the back of the bar, and was found unconscious with a bullet in his brain. Suddenly, Jeff disappeared and no one knew where he was for a time, until he showed up at a Port Charles bar called Barney's Place where he was drunk and high on amphetamines. She became pregnant but didn't tell anyone, not even Jeff. In response, he had an affair with Heather Grant, a scheming nanny who wanted Jeff to herself. Jeff grew angry and jealous as their feelings developed into an affair. ![]() ![]() Suddenly, Rick appeared alive, revealing he had been captured by African revolutionaries during a civil war and held prisoner for ten months. ![]() He missed his brother greatly, as did his wife Monica, who had once been engaged to Rick. Jeff feared everyone at GH was comparing him to his dead brother, Rick. Steve assumed they were ideally happy, but in actuality, their marriage was a wreck. He believed Jeff and Monica were a perfect choice. Steve Hardy tapped the young married Webbers for a bold new experimental program at the hospital called Mr. Monica Bard Webber (then Patsy Rahn) planned to join the staff of General Hospital following in the footsteps of Jeff's older brother, Rick Webber, who had reportedly been killed in a plane crash over Africa. Jeff Webber was first introduced in the spring of 1976 when he arrived in Port Charles after graduating from medical school. ![]() ![]() ![]() For me, these two, simple changes have improved Premiere Pro CS6 more than any of the other enhancements – allowing the editor to concentrate on the pictures, sound and the timeline, without any unnecessary visual clutter. Equally importantly, the transport controls have been reduced to the essentials, and there is a handy button editor (the second major attraction), allowing you to customise which buttons you want to be show on-screen. If you have a couple of monitors, you can throw the Projects window over to the second monitor (and pull out the tabs, have multiple bins open and so on) leaving you with an even cleaner layout on your main monitor. On a single screen, the default layout has big source and programme monitors in the top half of the screen, with a tabbed Project/Effects/Media window bottom left, and the rest of the screen showing the timeline, tools and audio meters. Firstly, it is a lot cleaner than any previous version of Premiere. The new UI has a couple of major attractions. As an aside, installing the software was a frustrating experience (on a Mac) – the installer won’t run reliably from a disc image, you have to copy the files to your desktop (I found out… eventually… by trial and error). ![]() Most noticeable, once you have installed the software, is the new-look user interface. The latest version, released as part of CS6 Production Premium (there are other options, discussed later) has some new features which could, just maybe, see them as the go-to alternative to Avid Media Composer, in the same way that Final Cut threw off its ‘amateur’ mantle in the early 2000s. I can only think that some of this taint still follows it, as it’s never really gained traction in the broadcast and feature film industries, even though it’s now a much better product. Several versions ago, it didn’t really do much, and just when you had found something it would do, it crashed. Tacitly, even Adobe admit that Premiere Pro used to be a bit ‘pants’. The new User Interface for Adobe Production Premium ADAM GARSTONE applauds how far Adobe has come with their premium editor but wonders if they arrived in too much of hurry and not taken care of some important basics. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Near us is Colfax Avenue, which is the concert and live music hub of Denver! I probably ignore this part until the very end of the build. We also install the rear axles, and a large tile which probably makes up the floor in the back of the vehicle. We saw it in Old Trafford, in the Batwing, and it makes up the base of the chassis here. The manual lays out the instructions into four sections: the chassis (Bags 1-3) doors, fins and cabin fit out (Bags 4-6) engine, front panels, hood, front bumper radiator and windows (bags 7-9) and finally rear panelling roof, wheels, and instrumentation (bags 10-12)Įverywhere I go this year, I see Technic frames in action – whenever a set requires a strong base with little flexibility, this seems to be the go-to form of construction. Not only as seen here in the Ecto-1, but also the 10273 Haunted House Fairground ride, as well as the 21309 LEGO Ideas Saturn V The official PR material highlights the ambulance usage! Mike Psiaki seems to have a habit of appearing in instruction manuals in cosplay. Depending on the colour, this vehicle was designed to function as a hease or an ambulance. Externally, the instruction manual bears an uncanny resemblance to a Hayes Workshop Manual, perhaps for the1959 Cadillac Miller Meteor. The artwork in the manual references both the original Ghostbusters movie, as well as the new (delayed) movie, Ghostbusters Afterlife, but without providing any material that we have not seen from the trailer or old films. The instructions reveal the principal set designer to be Mike Psiaki – now legendary for greating some of the great car models of recent years, including the Mustang, and the Aston Martin DB5. There are 15 ‘regular’ stickers, and another 33 stickers that represent rust The packaging for the instructions and sticker sheet for ECTO 1: the first step as LEGO moves to eliminate single use plastics from packaging. The first example of this that I have seen is the cardboard envelope used to hold the instruction manual and sticker set. I recently wrote about the plans to trial paper packaging, replacing the single use plastics in the boxes. I’m not sure what to call it.Īnd finally, there is the instruction book, and sticker sheet. So, what do we see when we open the box? There are bags numbers 1-12, a soft bag containing large transparent elements and another soft plastic bag containing tyres, flextube and some sort of whippy thing. 8, which was used as the exterior for the Ghostbusters’ headquarters, back in the original film. Fun fact: US Zip Code 10274 is at the southern tip of Manhattan, just a mile or so from the Hook and Ladder No. The Set has 2352 pieces, and is set number 10274. The way from Zip Code 10274 to the Ghostbusters HQ Underneath, we have a strip of yellow and black hazard tape, with the Registration plate bearing the wording: ECTO-1 Once again, we see the 18+ branding: the black box the strip of bricks along the bottom, and the necessary branging for the car: The Box is Labelled Ghostbusters – using the the font and logo from the movie. I have had the good fortune to look at a number of sets aimed at older builders this year, and while many of them have a level of appeal, this one has probably hit exactly the right nostalgia notes for me: more than Mario/ NES, more than the piano and more than the Batwing. When LEGO gave me the chance to review the new ECTO-1 Set, I was excited. Perhaps the Crocodile released earlier than planned, to olug a gap left by the delayed movie release? Or perhaps it was just to reserve 10274 for a set with its roots in Manhattan? 10274 would normally be expected to have been seen by now. [ 10273 was the Haunted House – released in May 10275 Elf Club House was released in October, 10277 Crocodile Locomotive was released in July. ![]() Rumor has it that there have been a few shuffles in the overall release schedule to accomodate it. However, I suspect the delay in releasing the movie left a bit of a gap in the LEGO release schedule. Seeing Venkmen, Egon, and the team defeat the forces of Zuul and Gozer (in the form of the Staypuft Marshmallow Man) gave me a feeling of elation: seeing the misfits triumph over the system, and saving the day.įrom what I have seen in the trailer to Ghostbusters: Afterlife, I suspect there might be the same level of joy in that film to be had for the next generation. The original Ghostbusters movie was also released. Teenage confusion, a love of science and hormones all worked together to give me the feeling of being a bit of an outsider. When the release of the sequel has been delayed as a result of the Coronavirus pandemic, I have only nostalgia to go on… Join me as I take a close look at the new 10274 Ghostbusters ECTO-1. When a sequel comes along 36 years after the original, you normally have a level of expectation.
